Making a Difference

“BUSINESS INNOVATION in the 21st Century” has made a difference to my launching of the capture, measurement, and management

of Relationship Capital for the Relationship Networking industry Association (RNIA). I have used the business innovation process to turn

this vision into reality. Thank you Praveen.”

A Pioneering Book That Will Benefit You and Your Company

After purchasing and reading hundreds of books from Amazon, it is for the very first time I have decided to write an opinion but for a

very good reason. I want to start by stating that I strongly recommend Dr. Gupta's truly pioneering work to any entity that wants to

create SUSTAINABLE GROWTH. With hundreds of tomes dedicated to the subject of innovation and growth published annually, I do

believe that Dr. Gupta's work is unique, powerful, instrumental and timely, especially considering the economic crisis upon us and the

need for robust recovery. Not only does "Business Innovation" explores many aspects of the subject of innovation traditionally missed

by the majority of companies and scholars, but most importantly this book provides a compelling case for institutionalizing innovation,

which is the foundation of sustaining growth. As the creator of the General Theory of Innovation who taught hundreds of corporate

seminars on the subject of innovation, I saw too often how the acquired knowledge and expertise of creating innovations on demand

disappeared with the flow of time when educated through seminars staff left for other entities. Institutionalizing innovation, making it a

core competence (just as quality is), creating innovation-conducive culture are absolutely essential for any entity pursuing long-term

market leadership. The opposite is unthinkable; consider what happened to Dell and its leadership. Please read this book and benefit

out of it. My sincere and profound congratulations to Dr. Gupta on the great accomplishment!

Praveen's excellent work on making innovation a core business process

These days, when innovation is a must for any type of organization, this excellent book offers the background, tools, framework and

roadmap of how innovation could become a sustainable and scalable process for any business. Praveen's impressive work helps leaders

to make innovation everybody's business in their organizations.

I wish I read this book 20 years a go and that the subject was covered in this much depth during my MBA years. I took it with me on a

long flight and never put it down. It's a very well done collection and integrated articulation of the history, science and wisdom behind

highly effective business innovation. It also serves as a great introduction to some genuine "creative geniuses" and by reference and

credits serves as a fitting tribute to one of my all time management heroes (Peter Drucker). In stride the authors brought a lot of what

Drucker and others wrote on this subject years ago up to date and built on it in context with the information age; knowledge age; web

age and global competition age that we live in today. The book anchors the key concepts and principals with why innovation is all the

more critical now for driving growth, share, profitability and differentiation. In aggregate the authors are so thorough applying and

explaining innovation/creativity and the related methodologies they'll take you to the edge with repetitiveness. However, given all the

noise and ambiguity out there in print related to the subject, I prefer this over the alternative. When I finally learned that sales is more

a science than an art I was able to drive more change and results than ever before. This book quickly reminded me that the same can

be said for innovation. The book represents a loud wake up call that innovation doesn't happen as often or successfully as it needs to

or could without purposefully applying the best science, methodology and implementation practices known to man. Needless to say, I

loved this book as I did his Six Sigma Business Scorecard. Praveen is so thorough; when he covers something he "covers” it.

Business Innovation Well Said

I found Praveen's book "Business Innovation" as a great collection of practical and real world methods of how to really execute

innovation in a business setting. This book could be used as a comprehensive "How to" book for any business struggling with how to

embrace and benefit financially from innovation.

So much more than a 'how to' manual for innovation

A tour de force effort. Praveen draws on his deep background in the measurement of business process implementations to make the

subject of innovation accessible to all who wish to foster creativity in our institutions. The book's organization is excellent. One can read

straight through for the full effect or skip around to glean new insights. Chapter 10, "Measures of Innovation" illuminates the path ahead

for this important journey.
